Hone your performance and technical theatre skills in the fast-paced environment of this innovative camp! Students will have the opportunity to participate as both actors and designers/crew members as they channel their creative energy, talent, and enthusiasm into a production. In the quick succession of quirky customers, the Order Up! restaurant takes on everything from weird food allergies to fanatical health inspectors, from the fear of eating to someone wanting to hide in the restroom, and on and on and on. Could there be a moment of sanity for the three employees who work behind this fast-food counter?

In this immersive experience, you’ll get a glimpse of what it’s like to work as a theatre professional. Put your acting, singing, and dancing skills into action. As the camp builds towards public performances of a fully staged musical, you’ll be challenged to engage your creativity and to work as part of a team while gaining valuable stage experience. Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movie, Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films! When the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

With just three weeks to bring together all of the technical elements of a show, you’ll be challenged to bring your best, most creative self to camp every day. You’ll focus on exploring technical skills including scenic design, costuming, stage management, and more. By the third week of camp, you’ll be ready to present your designs to the public and run a seamless production of Disney's Descendants from behind the scenes.

Week 5: July 17-21 | 10am-4pm |  Kenmore Middle School | $395 early bird, $420 after January 31, 2023

Join us for the opportunity to develop your performance skills, grow your confidence, and showcase your talent in our one week Spotlight Solo Showcase camp. This is the time to elevate your performance abilities with the guidance of Encore's professional teaching artists through intensive focus on solo performance. At the end of the week, campers will showcase their performance of either a vocal piece or a monologue for an intimate audience of friends and family. Enrollment limited to 18 students.

Students will have the opportunity to participate as both actors and designers/crew members as they channel their creative energy, talent, and enthusiasm into a production. This award-winning stage adaptation by renowned playwright James DeVita takes Lewis Carroll’s original Through the Looking Glass and literally runs with it, improvising on the pure, unadulterated fun of the story. This delightful romp through Alice’s looking glass land retains all of the familiar characters then introduces dozens of new ones: a baseball team, a gospel group called The Responsibilities, a train conductor, a peanut salesman, detectives, a Miss America pageant, star-struck tourists, plastic light saber wielding knights and much more.

Week 10:  August 21-25 | 10am-4pm | Theatre on the Run | $395 early bird, $420 after January 31, 2023

This is the week to elevate your performance abilities with the guidance of Encore's professional teaching artists through intensive focus on scene work. Enrollment limited to 18 students.
