2024 Flip the Script

Playing Next: Flip the Script Double Feature!
April 26-28, 2024

We are delighted to remount these original theatre pieces focused on Arlington’s African American voices for one weekend only!

The Day Nothing Happened is an original Encore piece that explores the 1959 desegregation of Arlington’s Stratford Junior High School, the first school to desegregate in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Inspired by the Green Valley neighborhood, formerly known as Nauck, the play From Nauck to Green Valley, Transforming a Community, looks at the history of one of the country’s oldest African American communities through the eyes of four fictional characters. This contemporary story explores and celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives there today.
