Encore Stage & Studio Announces 2025 Summer Theatre Camps for Ages 3–15

Arlington, VA (December 20, 2024) — Encore Stage & Studio is thrilled to unveil its 2025 Summer Theatre Camps, offering a dynamic lineup of creative programs for young performers aged 3 to 15. Running from June 16 through August 22, these camps provide an engaging and safe environment where children can explore the magic of theatre through acting, storytelling, music, and design.

Camp Highlights by Age Group:

Pre-K Camp (Ages 3–5): Tailored for preschoolers and rising kindergarteners, these morning sessions introduce young children to theatre through song, movement, storytelling, and crafts. Themes include “Eureka!” and “Kindergarten the Musical,” each culminating in a final sharing for families.

It’s Elementary (Ages 5–9): Ideal for rising 1st to 4th graders, this full-day camp immerses students in character creation, movement, and problem-solving. Exciting weekly themes such as “Encore School of Wizardry” and “Encore Summer Beach Bash” keep the creativity flowing.

Scenes for Tweens (Ages 9–12): Designed for rising 4th to 7th graders, this program offers a deeper dive into theatre arts. Campers can explore storytelling, costume and makeup design, and more, with each week concluding in a final performance.

Stage Door & Tech Camp (Ages 12–15): For rising 7th to 10th graders, this immersive experience allows students to participate as actors or tech crew in full-scale productions. The camp includes workshops with guest artists on topics like stage combat and makeup design. This summer’s featured musical production is “Aladdin Jr.” running June 30–July 18, 2025.
Camps are held at multiple locations in Arlington and Alexandria, with extended care options available. Registration is now open, and early enrollment is encouraged as sessions fill quickly.

A Fairytale Christmas Carol

December 2 - 11, 2022

By Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus
Gunston Arts Center – Theatre Two

In this remake of a Christmas classic, your favorite fairy tale characters bring to life the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge’s magical Christmas Eve. Mother Goose lends her talents to narrate the story as the Big Bad Wolf takes on the humbugging lead role. Cinderella, the Three Little Pigs, Old King Cole, and many more help create a new twist on the traditional Dickensian story told every December.
